JIGGING / POPPING
Popping and jigging are two popular fishing techniques used for targeting big game fish. Popping involves casting a lure called a “popper” and retrieving it with a jerking motion to create splashes and noise on the surface of the water, mimicking injured prey. This technique is particularly effective for surface-feeding predators like Giant Trevally, Tuna, and Sailfish.
Jigging focuses on deep-sea fishing by dropping a weighted lure (jig) vertically into the water and retrieving it in quick, rhythmic movements. This mimics the erratic movements of baitfish, attracting species like Dogtooth Tuna, Amberjack, and Snapper.
